Metal
The stock of metal objects can be divided into: elements made of mounted iron (wrought iron and cast iron), functional parts in the stairwell, metal elements of tiled stoves, fittings of windows, doors, and furniture, as well as historical installations, bathroom fittings, and communal water taps.
Restoration measures required were due to unstable anchors, defects and deformations, corrosion, damage to the socket, spalling or simply dirt. In the case of fittings, many additions had to be made in order to restore functionality.
The exterior and interior appearance of the villa was characterized by folding grilles attached to almost all window openings. These grilles, which were detrimental to the impression of space and were now non-functional, were not reinstalled but stored properly for possible reinstallation.
The stair railing remained on site for gentle cleaning and consolidation. The richly designed lattice gate on the podium with gold-colored rosettes and foliage was dismantled and worked on in the workshop. Although different settings could be found for the railing and the gate, these metalworks are shown in the same version as Franz Lehár also saw, or presumably even had made himself, in accordance with the restoration objective.
